The heroic operation called 'Jonathan Operation' in the name of June Netanyahu killed during the operation carried out by the Israel Defense Forces in Uganda on Sunday, July 4, 1976, with the aim of rescuing 105 Jewish, Israeli and airline passengers France, who was kidnapped by German and Palestinian terrorists during their flight from Israel to France. Despite the kidnapping of hostages in a hostile country, almost all the kidnappers were rescued peacefully. Three hostages were killed as well as commander of General Staff Patrol, Jonathan Netanyahu, and the operation was named after him.
