* Decorated honorary invitation by the Sephardic Committee and the Eastern Committees in Jerusalem to be appointed Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef for the Rishon Lezion and the honorary president of the community at Raban Yochanan Ben Zakai Synagogue in the Old City : "Personal invitation please Arrive on time". Nissan 1974.

* The invitation was intended for one of the major rabbis who had an influence on the appointment of Neighborhood rabbis, since Rabbi Ovadia attached a note in his handwriting and signature : "I very much ask from Your Honor to talk with Mr. C. Schreiber ... to appoint Rabbi Avraham Cohen Shlit'a to Rabbi neighborhood in Talpiot. Also the gaon rabbi Tzadka Shlit'a head of the Porat Yosef Yeshiva strongly recommends it". Rabbi Ovadia adds an interesting detail: "And several times delegations from the neighborhood came to me from the Sephardic community that enjoy it in Torah in their request to appoint him as a rabbi of the neighborhood and I promised them to recommend your honor".below Maran’s holy sign.

Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef was officially appointed to the Rishon Lezion in heshvan 1972 in the place of predecessor Rabbi Yitzhak Nissim. The invitation before us was apparently intended to strengthen his appointment as the honorary president of the Sphardic community in particular. As for Rabbi Avraham Cohen, Maran's request was met and he was appointed rabbi of the Talpiot East neighborhood of Jerusalem [died in Nissan 1994].

The invitation and letter are in very good condition.
