Adeloyada - Krovetz for Purim 1935 - The official newspaper of the Purim Celebrations Committee in Tel Aviv, 14 Adar Bet 1935. Extensive reference to the rising anti-Semitism and persecution of Jews in Germany, with jokes mocking Hitler and the Nazi party.

This issue came out during the height of rising anti-Semitism and oppressive decrees imposed on German Jews by the Hitler regime. The paper extensively covers these events.

Among other things appears an Article by N. Avrahamov titled "Purim in Haman's Land" about the German Haman. Accompanying the article is a photo of "Nazi thugs dressing up in Carnival costumes in Cologne in February 1934 as Jews fleeing Germany to Eretz Israel. Signs on the car read: "Jews leave" and "Cologne - Jerusalem". It was customary in German folklore to hold Carnivals marking different events. Under the Nazis, Carnivals took on an explicitly anti-Semitic character especially in southern and western Germany. Carnival marches featured stereotypically faced Jews with signs saying "Jews Out", and other displays.

Another article by Edward Fox deals with "Purim in Worldwide Cartoonery". In which he extensively refers to anti-Semitic caricatures in the German press and how they directly incited violence against Jews.

Also includes a section "From European Humor of the Last Year" with jokes mocking Hitler and Nazi leaders. This page features a caricature of Hitler erasing the names of great Jewish figures (including Einstein) in front of a concentration camp, and a Bialik excerpt titled "איכה יירא את האש" questioning "will the flames kindled against the Jewish people by evil rulers will succeed in eradicating Am Israel...it will not rule over you, Scrolls will be burned and letters will float in the air", and more.

52 p. 34 cm. Stains on cover. Good condition.
