The journey to the East of Prince Friedrich Karl of Prussia (1828-1885) took place in the winter of 1882/83 as a victory celebration in the battles in which he prevailed in the Franco-Prussian War. His journey went through Egypt, Upper Egypt, Sinai, the Holy Land, Syria and "the return home" (from Athens to Berlin). The book is accompanied by 12 large print plates of landscapes and people in Oriental dress and scenes from his journey spanning a full page, and many illustrations within the text.

IV, 240 pages. 39 cm. Original leather cover. Gilt writing on the cover, embossed decorations. Gilt leaf cutting. Loose front cover reinforced with adhesive paper on the inside. Overall good condition.
