Collection of Letters by and written to Rabbi Nissim Ohana (1882-1962) - Deputy Head of Rabbis in Egypt and Chief Rabbi of Haifa. The collection includes: his book "Know what you will answer to Epicurus" Jerusalem, 1959, with a dedication in his handwriting and signature, as well as the rare introductory page in a stencil print in which Rabbi Ohana tells the source of the book, which is actually answers to the Mufti. elalami on Questions from the New Testament, a letter in the handwriting and signature of Rabbi Ohana in which he announces that the building of the Heichal Netanel Synagogue in Haifa is about to end [1948].

The Ga'on Rabbi Nissim Binyamin Ohana [1882-1962] was born in Algeria and immigrated to Israel as a child. He served as rabbi of the city of Gaza in 1902. After the death of his first wife, the daughter of Rabbi Nachman Betito, he married in Jerusalem in 1912 to the daughter of the kabbalist Rabbi Yitzhak Moshe Firira, and after a time went to the United States to serve as the rabbi of the dairy community in New York. During the First World War, he served as rabbi of Malta, and in 1920 he moved to Cairo, where he served as rabbi and deputy head of the Rabbinical Council. In 1947 he arrived in Haifa, where he was appointed Chief Rabbi. Author of the books: Nae Meshiv (Responsa in Halacha), and know what will respond to Epicurus (polemic against Christianity), and more. Some of his writings remain in manuscripts.
