20 ANS APRES - "Twenty years Later ..." by Michael Gerbeaux pretre, France 1966 - second edition - a copy with a signed dedication by the author.

Memoirs of an inmate of the Buchenwald camp. The author was captured by the Nazis in 1942 and imprisoned in a number of concentration camps in Germany where he worked in forced labor, until he was finally transferred to Buchenwald and survived thanks to his steadfast standing in all situations. The first edition of the book was published in 1964, before us the second edition in which the author expanded and added passages that did not appear in the first edition. The painting on page 201 which shows only the lower part of an SS soldier brutally beating the author, has been an inspiration to many Holocaust Artists who came later and painted harsh Holocaust scenes while omitting the head or parts of the body of an SS tyrant to illustrate the inhumanity of their cruelty.

220 p. Good condition.
