Four books by the Yiddish writer Avraham Kahan - dedications signed by the author. In one of the books dozens of notes and corrections in Kahn's handwriting.
* אפ אונדזער ערד - 'on our land'. Published by מעלוכע פארלאג דער עמעס, Moscow 1944. In the pages of the book are dozens of glosses, editorial corrections and notes in Kahn's handwriting. In some of the pages, Kahn pasted the required correction close to the margins of the page, parallel to the page in need of correction, prior to the publication of a revised edition.
* אינזשענערנ - 'Engineers'. Kharkov - Kyiv 1932. On the title page is a long dedication in Kahn's handwriting and signature. Missing front cover.
* ארן ליבערמן, Malukish Literary Published by מעלוכישער ליטעראישער פארלאג, Kiev, 1935. On the title page is a dedication in Kahn's handwriting and signature.
* מענטשען פונם אלקער - 'People of Elker', צענטראלער פעלקער Publishing House, Moscow, 1927. Back cover detached.
Avram Kahan [1901-1965] Soviet Yiddish poet and writer. His books have also been translated into Russian and Ukrainian. At the end of Stalin's days in 1949 he was sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of "cosmopolitanism". Released in 1956 and lives in Kiev. He has authored a number of novels, including one on The Bayliss Case.
