Two handwritten notes signed by Israeli Prime Minister Moshe Sharett - sent to Knesset Member Esther Raziel-Naor during Knesset sessions. c. 1950s.

In the first note he sent to Naor, Sharett quotes an excerpt from Dante's "Inferno" translated by Jabotinsky. After an angry response from Naor who did not understand what he meant by quoting this passage, Sharett sent her another prickly note in this language: "I had a need to share this with someone. I thought of you, because you probably admire the translator and understand poetic Hebrew, but you probably can't have a simple human response without a mixture of political arithmetic. In this respect, you are similar to the Communists. I comment this without any resentment, only as a observation and psychological analysis." And he signs his name with the initials "M.S.". On the pieces of paper on the outside, Sharett wrote the name of Naor, to which the notes were intended.

Before the invention of the cell phone, WhatsApp and SMS, Knesset members used to deliver short messages to each other on small pieces of paper - "notes", from which today we can learn a lot about the happenings of "behind the scenes" in the Knesset building in the early years of the state.

[2] Folded pieces of paper. Very good condition.
