A special envelope issued on the occasion of Sadat's historic visit to Israel, on which a joint photo of Sadat and Begin was printed after landing from the plane, as well as a special stamp in which these envelopes were signed. On the envelope is the signature of Menachem Begin, the then Prime Minister of Israel, and the initiator of the historic visit. November 20, 1977.

A few years after the Yom Kippur War, peace talks between Israel and Egypt began. Sadat was surprised when he declared that in order to achieve peace, he was even willing to visit Israel. Prime Minister Menachem Begin accepted his offer, and invited Sadat to pay an official visit to Israel. On November 19, 1977, Sadat landed at Ben-Gurion Airport, becoming the first Arab leader to visit Israel, opening a new era in Middle Eastern history. Millions of people around the world watched as Sadat got off the plane, to the sound of trumpets and gunfire. Sadat spent two nights in Israel, speaking in the Knesset and meeting with all the factions of the House. The public in Israel Welcoming him with enthusiasm and respect kings. When he returned to his plane, he was accompanied by two Israeli Air Force planes on his way back to Egypt. Due to this visit, Sadat was named Time Magazine's Man of the Year that year. The historic visit led to a peace process with Israel, culminating in the signing of the agreement on March 26, 1979. For the Camp David Accords that paved the way for the peace agreement, he and Menachem Begin, his Israeli partner in the process, won the Nobel Peace Prize.
