Famous artist Willie Geiger [1897-1971] born in Blandshot. Starting out as a graphic designer at the Munich School of Craft. Later he was a professor at the School of Decorative Art in Munich, representing a leading and breakthrough design line. Geiger's works were considered 'degenerate' in the eyes of the Nazis and during the war he was fired from his position as lecturer at the Leipzig Academy. After the war he returned to teach at the Munich Art College, and during that time he created the engravings before us.
In an introduction by Heinrich Graf he writes: "These engravings are the result of a burning hatred for the monster in human form. They are directed against the same monster [Hitler], who fought against morality and the right, freedom, human dignity, religion, everything that has always been considered good, beautiful, noble and sublime among cultural peoples. . "
