Die Wahrheit- Jüdische Wochenschrift - A Jewish weekly published in Vienna between the years 1885-1938. The founder and editor-in-chief was Jacob Bauer (1852–1926). The newspaper regularly dealt with current affairs concerning the Jewish people. The growing anti-Semitism in Austria and in the German Reich in the 1920s caused Ludwig Hirschfeld to take a strong and firm political line, fearlessly exposing the injustices and decrees against the Jews, and regularly dealt with the phenomenon of anti-Semitism and fascism. In the 1920s, the newspaper received several women's articles and published them, which was not common at the time. The paper appeared on Fridays and usually had 16 pages. In 1933, with the rise of the Nazis to power, the distribution of Jewish newspapers was banned, and following the annexation of Austria to the German Reich, the distribution of the 'truth' was also banned, and the last issue appeared on March 11, 1938.
