The "Old" Synagogue in Heilbronn was a main synagogue and one of the most beautiful synagogues in Germany in the late 19th century. It was built between 1873-1877, then called the "New Synagogue". The building was designed by architect Adolf Wolff in Moorish style. The architectural style recalled Mamluk style or the Alhambra Palace. The synagogue served the Jewish community of Heilbronn until its destruction in the events of Kristallnacht in 1938.
