Two horrific photographs ('sequels') - one shows a group of Jews standing in a camp in front of Nazi soldiers aiming their weapons at them. In the second photograph, the same Jews are executed by hanging on a gallows near where they stood before (which can be seen in the first photograph). The two photographs are depicted on the back and dated in German: "Juden des Verrats beschuldigt und im Lager Jasnowiec gehängt Stara Gradiška 15. Januar 1942"- "Jews accused of treason and hanged in the Jasenovac Stara Gradiška camp, January 15, 1942."

Stara Gradiška [Also called Jasenovac V] was a concentration and extermination camp in the Jasenovac camp compound in Croatia, which was used to hold women and children, as well as Serbs and Jews concentrated for their nationality. The camp was built on the remains of an Austro-Hungarian outpost that served as a prison and operated between June 1941 and April 1945. Several tens of thousands of people died in the camp, who were systematically exterminated by various methods. Compared to the other Jasenovac camps, living conditions in Stara Gradishka were unbearable. The prisoners slept in dungeons on a concrete floor, died at a rapid pace or were systematically murdered. The food was extremely scarce. During 1942, the prisoners were fed on a rotten "turnip soup" served once a day, and the typhoid and typhoid epidemic spread in the camp, which was even more severe than in Jasenovac. In the camp, the deaths were carried out by gas and torture by suffocation and other cruel methods.

Same size: 18x13 cm. Very good condition.
