Cloth Fan for bride - fabric decorated with embroidered beaded chain patterns, in the form of Stars of David, fine decorations and buttons. Cloth Fringed edges. Attached to a wooden handle.
A fan of the same shape that was used for a bride is displayed in the permanent exhibition of the Hechal Shlomo Museum in Jerusalem - where it appears in a design almost identical to the fan before us (and most likely created by the same artist, with a slight change - in the fan before us appear Stars of David, and those in the fan in Hechal Shlomo Museum are without the Stars of David) See "Jewish Life in Art and Tradition" from the collection of Isaac Wolfson, Hechal Shlomo, p. 51.
