Rabbi Meir Auerbach [1815-1878], one of the greatest rabbis of Poland, Av Beit Din of Kowal - Koil, and from 1856 Av Beit Din of Kalisz, after whom he became known. Immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1859 and served as president of the Kollel of Poland, and one of the leaders of the Ashkenaz community in Jerusalem. Authorized by Rabbi Shmuel Salant to take over the leadership of the city and he called him 'Rabbi of Jerusalem'. The author of the book "Imri Bina" after which he is named. The regulation not to play musical instruments at weddings in Jerusalem attributed to him, probably in order to strengthen the fences of modesty. Buried on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.
