Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Bhar'n [1836-1928]: Born to Rabbi Nahum Levi MiShadik and Chaya Simplonie Levi. His father was the chief rabbi of the city and headed Poland Kolel after his immigration to Eretz Israel with his family. Upon his immigration to Eretz Israel was very close to Maharil Diskin , and grew up in his close group of students, called the "Lions Group" and became the Maharil's confidant. He was considered one of his most prominent students and later served as a Dayan in his court.

Upon his immigration to Israel with his family, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman began to take part in the anti-government intervention in education matters in Jerusalem. He was very famous for his wisdom in managing the construction of the first neighborhoods in Jerusalem. Among his most prominent students were his brother, Rabbi David Bhar'n, and Rabbi Gershon Lapidot. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman was one of the founders of the "Builders of Jerusalem" company, which led to the construction of the first neighborhoods of Jerusalem in the 19th century after exiting the walls. Together with Rabbi Shmuel Huminer, he managed the company and built some of Jerusalem's famous neighborhoods such as Nahalat Shivah, Mishkenot Sha'ananim, Mahaneh Israel, Beit David and Mea Sha'nanim neighborhood (He was the one that wrote the neighborhood's famous regulations book). In memory of him called Shlomo Zalman Bhar'n street in Mea She'arim neighborhood. A few of his novels have been printed in the Avney kodesh responsa and in a Zer Zahav book.
