A long letter (4 pages) in Yiddish and German, in the handwriting of Rabbi Simcha Halevi Bamberger Av Beit Din of Fishach (near Augsburg). Fishach, March 15, 1872.

Two letters, the first written in German, and signed at the end: "Bamberger". The second is written in Yiddish and deals with the Strasbourg community in France, and the Lugano community in Switzerland, as well as Frankfurt. Both pages are embossed with relief stamps: "Simon Bamberger - Rabbiner - Fischach b. Augsburg".

The Gaon Rabbi Simcha (Simon) Halevi Bamberger (1832-1898) son of Rabbi of Würzburg Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Bamberger. In 1853 he served as the head of the Beit Midrash in Colmar (Alsace). From 1856 he served for 26 years as rabbi of the Fishach community (by Augsburg, in the Schwaben area of Bavaria), in 1882 he began to serve as rabbi of the community of Ashpenburg, after the death of the previous rabbi - Rabbi Avraham Adler. From his books: "Pkudat Haleviyim", "Avodat Haleviyim", "Hinuch Lenearim" and more. Many of his works have remained in handwriting. His great-grandson is Rabbi Yehoshua Yeshaya Noyvirt, Rosh Yeshiva and author of the book "shmirat shabat Kehilchatah".
