New Year's jar and porcelain plate made by MITTERTEICH bavaria, Germany, 20th century.
On the lid is the caption: 'Happy New Year' in the jar partition hand-painted of leaves and flowers and gilded decoration. The name of the company signed at the base of the jar and on tne base of the plate.

Mitterteich - a town in the north of Bavaria (Germany), where the porcelain leading company was established in 1887 by Ludwig Lindner. In 1895, the company was transferred to Max Emanuel And its affiliates from London. During the First World War, it was confiscated by authorities in Bavaria. After the war, it returned to production when its employees numbered 300 workers. Around 1925 the company expanded due to increased demand. And in 1937, it expanded further and erected additional buildings. In 2006, the company closed.
