"Sefer HaTakanot and Agreements and Customs customary here in Jerusalem ... Printed from the manuscript by the genius rabbis from our Sephardic brethren in the year 1842, here in jerusalem...". Printed by Yoel Moshe Salomon, Jerusalem, 1883. On the Protective page, a dedication from 1933 in the handwriting and signature of the writer SY Agnon to the leader of the labor movement, Berl Katzenelson: "To my Soulmate friend, R. Berl Katzenelson, from me, S.Y. Agnon, Jerusalem, Talpiot, Vayehi 1933."

Agnon the writer and influencer on the one side, and Katzenelson the leader, the journalist, and the thinker on the other, were good friends. In June 1939, Katznelson was the only activist in the labor movement to attach his signature to a "A voice calling against terrorism from within" which was also signed by SY Agnon, Henrietta Szold, and Hugo Bergman. Agnon occasionally published some of Katzelson's stories in the "Davar" newspaper. At his death, Agnon wrote an article in his memory - "On Berl Katzenelson", which was published in Ha'aretz on August 25, 1944 and was also published as a separate booklet. In the article, Agnon states that the four important people who shaped the face of the settlement are: "Brenner and Ruppin and our holy Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook and Berl Katzenelson."

The rare book in itself, one of the first prints of Jerusalem, was first published in 1842. In the edition before us, which was published in 1883, there are two title pages - the title of the 1883 edition, and the title of the first edition, which was also printed in Jerusalem in 1842 (Next to the second title page, illustration of the Western Wall). In this edition, the editor added many customs that were found in the writing of Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elishar - with the approval of Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elishar to this edition. See Shoshana Halevi 439.
