Twelve original photographs of 'Bible Scenes' captured by photographer George Robinson Leiss with his camera in Eretz Israel and in particular in the Jerusalem area, pasted on thick cardboard boards. Among them are photographs of people in the attire typical of the Land of Israel at the entrances to the Jaffa Gate, in their various occupations, shepherd, biblical landscape view, traditional hand washing, and more. In his long introduction, Liss goes on to explain the oriental nature of life characterized by the preservation of ancient traditions, dress and behavior. One of the first books printed in Jerusalem in English.
