THE MAP OF LOVE by Dylan Thomas published by J.M. Dent and Sons Ltd London 1939 - First Edition - Signed by the author.

The map of love - sixteen poems and seven stories written by Thomas between 1937 and 1939, when he was in his early twenties! The story "The Dress and the Tree" that appears here, was written by Thomas even before he turned twenty. These were the years when his popularity gained unprecedented momentum, and even then he was considered an English writer and poet with a promising future. The name of the book was chosen according to the poem that appears in the book in which Thomas defines love as "a chart of the body's dark countries". Despite the outbreak of the World War, this did not cloud the book's success, and it became more and more popular over the years.

Dylan Marlais Thomas (1914-1953) Welsh poet and writer, one of the greatest poets of the 20th century. Born in the city of Swansea in South Wales. In 1933, some of his poems were already published in several magazines and one of his poems was even read as part of a BBC radio competition. In 1934, when he was 20 years old, he left the family home and moved to London, where his first book of poems "18 Songs" was published. The book established him as one of the most promising young poets in English poetry. Considered one of the greatest poets of the 20th century alongside Robert Frost, William Butler Yeats and Thomas Stearns Eliot and a leading figure in Anglo-Welsh literature.
