The poster bring the testimony of the Zionist parties in Austria about the murder: "There are no words to describe the horror of this act ... In the sunlight, a 22-year-old from Nahalal was killed... The death of Eitan Avidov [1925-1947] is still a mystery today. Avidov, born in Ein Harod. In his youth he worked on the farm his father built. At a young age he used to attend a seminar at the Rotenberg House on the Carmel and hear lessons from Berl Katzenelson, the intellectual of the labor movement. In 1947, Eitan was recruited to work for Aliya B, and was sent to Europe to the Wiesenhof camp near Innsbruck, Austria, a camp of the "Irgun HaBricha" on behalf of the Haganah. This movement at the time made an effort to prevent the transfer of transports beyond the authority of the Jewish Agency and its institutions. As part of this effort, a group of people belonging to the Revisionist movement were arrested and interrogated. This was the background for an attempt by a group from the Irgun to occupy the "Bericha" transit camp and take control of the point that interfered with its actions at the border. On the morning of October 13, 1947, about 100 Irgun men broke into the camp near Innsbruck. In a riot that occurred in the camp, Eitan Avidov was killed, as is customary, by a gunshot wound (see, for example, the Defense Ministry's "Yizkor" 'website - Eitan Avidov's resume), although there are versions that he was intentionally killed during a confrontation with Irgun forces (see article in Davar newspaper From 10/9/1947, under the headline: "Murdered by Irgun members in the Innsbruck camp" reads: "Irgun members shot at the people and the emissary from Palestine, Eitan Avidov, was shot dead." His coffin arrived on an Italian ship to Haifa on October 17, 1947, and thousands of Haganah members accompanied Eitan on his final journey. He was brought for burial in Givat Shimron in Nahalal and is 22 years old.
