Three rare photographs from the visit of Albert Einstein and his wife to the Land of Israel in February 1923, Exactly one hundred years ago!

The three photographs document Einstein's tour in the north of the country, and they are described on the back in handwritten and signed with the well-known seal of the 'Migdal' colony from the 1923:
"11-12/2/23 Einstein is interested in the map of the GInosar plain"; 12/2/23 "Einstein and the lady on the Gzustra in Beit Galihin"; "Einstein on the shore of the Sea of Galilee by the eucalyptus grove".

At the beginning of 1923 he Einstein visited the Land of Israel for the only time in his life, with the aim of helping Weizmann promote the establishment of the university. In the only house available to the university on Mount Scopus, Einstein gave a lecture on the theory of relativity. He visited the north of the country in the Migdal settlement, and in Carmel there he met the artist Bezalel Herman Struck in his home. He also visited the city of Tel Aviv in the same month of 1923 where he was awarded the title of "Distinguished Citizen of the City" by Tel Aviv Mayor Meir Dizengoff. This visit left a deep impression on Einstein and strengthened his support for the Zionist enterprise and his involvement and activity for Jewish organizations and institutions that were active in the Land of Israel at the time.

In 2015, a documentary film was released about Einstein's visit to the Land of Israel called "Einstein in the Holy Land".
