At the outbreak of the Second World War, about 30,000 Jews lived in Radom - about a third of its inhabitants. On September 8, 1939, the German army occupied Radom, a few days later SS forces entered the city, and soon they began kidnapping Jews for forced labor and abusing them. In March 1941, the Radom ghetto was established.
