The High Priest' next to the Samaritan Torah Scroll - Two real photo postcards showing the Samaritan priests. In one, Yitzhak Ben Amram [1916-1932 - sent by mail], on the other Mazliach Ben Pinchas [1933-1943].

The Samaritan High Priest serves as the high priest of the Samaritan community and as the senior religious leader. By virtue of his position, he resides in Mount Grizim. A high priest was elected after the death of a great priest, out of the members of the priesthood and according to his age. According to the Samaritan tradition, the high priest's role began with Aaron, the first priest, and has not ceased since, but many historians doubt this.

Same size: 9x14 cm. Very good condition.
