20 'Shana Tova' postcards published by Williamsburg - New York, printed in Germany. Early of the 20th century.

Graceful Shana Tova postcards with short texts of New Year greetings in Yiddish. Including some rarities of the series.
In the postcards: a girl holding an Israeli flag against the backdrop of an American landscape, the bicycle girl, various scenes depicting the new inventions that were prevalent in the early 20th century - the telescope, hot air balloon, the telephone, the aeronautics, cars, bicycles, as well as a postcard "לשנה טובה שיפסקארטע" - New York 1914 - a special 'Shana Tova' postcard with the text of the 'Birkat HaDerech'. At its center is a ship sailing at sea and announcing the good news of redemption to the shores of the United States, two postcards with views from Eretz Israel, each with a different background, and others.

The American publishers of greeting cards often took advantage of the knowledge and technology acquired in this field in Germany. The cards were handed over for printing to German publishers who manufactured Jewish postcards and were sent back for marketing among American Jews. The Williamsburg company was the first and largest company to print the Shana Tova postcards in America. Its offices were located at 25 Delancey Street in the heart of Manhattan's populated Jewish Quarter. The company excelled in producing a wide variety of painted postcards on Jewish subjects. The printers used scenes originating from the 'צנטראל' (Central) press in Warsaw and added a 'Western' tinge to them.

Not sent by post. Overall condition very good.
