Large group photograph of the Mir Yeshiva students after being rescued during the Holocaust through Lithuania, Japan and Shanghai, at a wedding celebration in the United States in 1948, among them those who later became great Torah scholars and heads of Yeshiva’s.

Apparently identified among the photographed are Rabbi Shmuel Birnbaum (later Rosh Yeshiva of Mir in the US), Rabbi Reuven Fein (later Rosh Yeshiva of “Bais Meir” in Bnei Brak and “Torah VaDaas” Yeshiva in the US), Rabbi Yaakov Finklestein, Rabbi Pinchas Berliner, Rabbi Zvi Grushko (later Rosh Yeshiva of Harey Yehuda Yeshiva), Rabbi Asher Liechtenstein (later Rosh yeshiva of Kamintz Yeshiva in Jerusalem), Rabbi Michael Feinstein[?] (later Rosh Yeshiva of “Beit Yehuda”), and additional students.
