Letter in the handwriting and signature of the righteous genius Rabbi Zvi Michal Shapira [Rabbi Hirsch Michal] regarding the spiritual strengthening of Jerusalem, Nissan [1902].

In his letter 'To the Honorable Supreme Friend of the Beit Yisrael with the love of the soul to guide them in a straight way, the Gaon addresses the "Chief of Thousands of Israel the Honorable Holiness Morrenu Rabbi Yitzchak Shlita" [according to the praise he may have intended for Rabbi Cook who was at the time in Boisk, Though that's just hypothesis]. The genius Rabbi Zvi Michal adds that 'preventing his coming to jerusalem the holy city causes grief to some sage who will agree that when he comes to Israel he will act against the foreign studies that spread during those years.

Rabbi Yehoshua Zvi Michal Shapira [ Rabbi Hirsch Michal 1840-1906] Tzaddik Yerushalmi, one of the exemplary figures of the old Yishuv in the 19th century. Born in Hebron to Rizha Golda and Rabbi Ya'akov Kapil Shapira, he was a grandson of Rabbi Ze'ev Shapira, nicknamed Rabbi Ze'ev Harif. He became famous as a holy man and exemplary. All his life he lived in celibacy, and even when he was weakened and forced to sleep, he did not sleep on a bed but on a mat that was spread out on the floor. for years he would go to hiding places every night in Jerusalem, where he would study Torah and prayer, and at midnight he used to say midnight Tikun.

Since he was young he set his place of study in the "Ahali Ya'akov" Beit Midrash, where they regularly studied in the great cities of Jerusalem, including Rabbi Meir Auerbach of Kalish, Rabbi Nachum from shadik and Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Leib Silberberg of Kutna, owner of "Zait Ra'anan". Over the years, Rabbi Hirsch Michal approached the owner of the "Zeit Ra'anan" and he became his prominent rabbi. Rabbi Zilberberg stood up to him and approached him, and as Rabbi Hirsch Michal himself testified in one of his letters to his grandson: "Almost nothing was left of me from what he had thought of until the last minute". In his book "Zait Ra'anan" he mentions him many times and brings out his difficulties. In the year 1878, twelve years after the passing of his rabbi the "Zeit Ra'anan", Rabbi Hirsch Michal approached to Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Diskin, who at that time immigrated to Eretz Israel. Rabbi Hirsch Michal was one of his few students and became his confidant. Among his students, his only son, Rabbi Ben-Zion Abraham Shapira, who is considered by his own to a holy man and walked in the ways of his great father, and even became known as one of the greatest Kabbalists in the Beit a-L Yeshiva. Another famous student of him was Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe Harlap, who was treated as a man of G-d. After his passing, he published his history in the book "Zvi Tzaddik." Rabbi Haralp dealt with the writings of Rabbi Hirsch Michal and published his holy books - Questions and Answers in Halacha , Amarot Tehorot - Moral Articles, and Zvi Tzadik - Collection of Rabbi Shapira's Letters to His Students, Including Strengthening and Moral and Guidance in G-d's Work.
