The Dead Sea Scrolls [also known as the Judean Desert Scrolls, and the Qumran Scrolls] discovered in Qumran caves, Nahal Haber (the Cave of Horror and the Epistles), Nahal Tze'elim and the Masada in the Judean Desert and other sites in the area, between1947-1956. The discovery of the scrolls is considered one of the most important archaeological finds in the Land of Israel. The scrolls have great historical and religious significance, since the period of writing of the earliest of them is estimated to the second and first century BCE. That is to say, these are the earliest Hebrew manuscripts that include a Bible version in Hebrew.
