Two rare photographs of Jewish immigrants from Trieste (Italy) to Eretz Israel aboard the immigrant ship "Palestina". 1935.
The photograph showing dozens of Jews next to the captain standing in the center, is depicted on the back in handwritten Yiddish: "אוייף פאקלאד פון דער שיף פאלסטינה 6/11/1935" - "On board the ship Palestina 4/11/1935" (this photograph is divided on the back for use as a postcard).
Most of the passengers aboard the ship "Palestina" came from Poland. The ship reached Haifa port on 10/23/1935. In the records of the immigrant ships that sailed to Eretz Israel, this ship is listed as one of the first to arrive in Israel during the immigration period.
Photographs: 14x9 cm, 12x9 cm. Missing tears and spots at the edges of both photographs. Moderate condition.
