Book in an album edition containing dozens of photographs of Yemenite Jewry adorned in the first decades of the 20th century: rabbis, synagogues, earners and their families, Village Jews, and more. All the photographs by Yemeni photographer Yechiel Haibi, photographer Yechiel Haibi acted in a time and atmosphere in which photography in Yemen was not only rare but also illegal.The Yemeni king who controlled the level saw in the photograph an act that violates the laws of Islam and everyone who dealt with it was tried as a spy and a religious and civil offense. Most of his photos were taken underground and in a covert way, through windows or while traveling.
