A photograph of Jewish women from Hungary in forced labor in the Bergen-Belsen camp. Described on the back in Slovak: Židovské väzenkyne z Maďarska v tábore Bergen-Belsen. septembra 1944 - "Jewish female prisoners from Hungary in the Bergen-Belsen camp. September 1944".

On August 7, 1944, the women's camp was established in Bergen-Belsen. 12 tents were erected to receive the women's transports. The first transport arrived on August 11, and in the following days thousands more women, included Jewish women from Poland and Hungary who were brought from labor camps in the east due to the rapid advance of the Red Army. Due to the relatively good state of health of these women, most of them stayed in the camp for only a short time; For them the camp was only a transit station to other labor camps. On December 2, the number of prisoners in Bergen-Belsen was 15,257, of which 8,000 were women in the women's camp.
