TRIANGOLO ROSSO - "Red Triangle" - From the prisons of S. Vittore to the concentration and extermination camps of Fossoli and Bolzano. Belsen, Mauthausen, Gusen, Dachau. By PAOLO LIGGERI. Published by LA CASA, Milan 1946. A copy with the author's dedication: "Elin, con calore e amore. Paolo" - "Elin, with warmth and love. Paolo". Italian.

The story of an Italian prisoner who was held in Nazi prisons and in the camps of Belsen, Mauthausen, Gusen and Dachau. First-hand testimony about countless acts of horror and abuse by the Nazis in the death camps. Among other things, the author documents the abuse of Jews by the Nazis and the murder of thousands before his eyes. The Red Triangle was the badge worn by political prisoners in the death camps in Germany. On the red triangle were the initials of the nation to which the prisoner belonged. Paolo chose to give his book the name "Red Triangle" in memory of his fellow prisoners who did not return from the camps. Paolo describes how prisoners with optimism managed to survive the inferno, unlike others who were overcome with heavy negative feelings and did not survive. Among other things, he describes in detail the operation of the gas chambers in the camps where he was held, and the methods of execution used by the Nazis, as well as severe abuse carried out by the Nazis against women in the camps.

Extremely rare. In the world library catalogue world cat there is only one listing of 1947 edition which does not appear in any library worldwide. The 1946 edition before us is not even listed in World Cat at all.
