The issue of the newspaper Los Angeles Examiner dated: May 7, 1945, titled: NAZIS SURRENDER EUROPE WAR COMES TO END - a particularly impressive front page - in the upper part of the issue the United States flags in color and the victory letters VE - a photograph of the general Dwight and excited subtitles about the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of the war. A rare issue that came out on the day Germany signed the surrender.
The title page reports that Germany surrendered unconditionally to the Western Allies and Russia at 2:41 a.m. French time, and that the surrender took place at General Eisenhower's headquarters. "The surrender that brought the war in Europe to an official end after five years, eight months and six days of bloodshed and destruction was signed for Germany by Colonel General Gustav Jodl. Jodl is the new Chief of Staff of the German Army...". On the right a large photograph of General Dwight - "The commander of the Allied armies who led his forces to victory over the Germans". In the square on the right, a description of World War II from its beginning and the announcement that on this day everything related to the word "Nazi" was shattered. On all pages of the newspaper there are reports about the surrender of Nazi Germany and the organization at the end of the war. On the last page Under the title: "Germany's Scourge of Nazidom Ends" - there are photographs of the heads of the Nazi regime - Hitler, Goering, Goebbels, Rudolf Hess, Himmler, Ribbentrop, Julius Streicher, and Doenitz. The large central photograph shows Hitler and Goering and is described: "Adolf Hitler, who ruled Germany with a dictatorial hand since 1933 and since 1938 conquered most of Europe, has died." On the back of the sheet is a large colored map documenting the conquests of Hitler and the Nazi army, and their defeat in the war according to dates.
